How We Keep Parents Informed of School Life

In Prep, communication with parents is regular and accessible. Teachers are available at drop-off and collection for quick updates, and our open-door policy ensures longer conversations can be arranged when needed. Each week, our newsletter shares key reminders, celebrates achievements, and highlights the many opportunities pupils enjoy. Formal touchpoints include three written reports and two parents’ evenings each year, offering a rounded view of progress and wellbeing. Together, this blend of daily contact, weekly updates, and formal reporting ensures Prep parents are fully informed and feel actively involved in their child’s school journey.

Reporting to Parents

Parents receive three detailed written reports across the year, each highlighting academic achievement, effort, and wider personal development. Reports are designed to be clear and informative, giving a balanced view of strengths and areas for growth. In addition, two parents’ evenings provide the chance to meet with class teachers and subject leaders to discuss progress in more detail. These formal updates sit alongside our open-door approach and daily conversations, ensuring that parents have a full and up-to-date understanding of their child’s journey through Prep.

Messaging Portals and Apps

Prep For Prep, parents receive key information through ParentMail and the school app. These platforms provide quick access to announcements, letters, calendar updates, and reminders. Parents can also find links to trip details, forms, and key policies. Clear instructions for accessing ParentMail are available on the school website, with additional support offered if required. Using ParentMail helps ensure families never miss important information and can stay fully connected to school life.

Parents’ Evenings

In Prep, parents’ evenings take place twice each academic year, providing the opportunity to meet with class teachers and subject leaders. These meetings are designed to give a clear, honest picture of each child’s progress in both academic subjects and wider personal development. They also offer the chance to discuss targets, share feedback, and strengthen the partnership between home and school. Parents’ evening dates for 2025/26 are published in the school calendar, ensuring families can plan ahead. Together with written reports, these evenings form a key part of our approach to keeping parents informed and involved.
