How We Keep Parents Informed of School Life
In Seniors, a termly outline of key dates and a half-termly newsletters share key reminders, celebrate achievements such as sports events and national competitions, and highlight the opportunities that pupils enjoy. We communicate information for key events via ISAMs which is sent to parents as an email, Parents’ evenings are notified and booked via the School Cloud App. which sends notifications via email. We also offer information events to support the Senior educational journey. For quick updates please contact form tutors in the first instance. A member of the Leadership Team will also be on the gate at the start and end of school.
Reporting to Parents
As a part of our High Tempo Framework, parents of Seniors receive progress reports across the year, each highlighting by subject if pupils are meeting expectations in classwork and homework to the level that supports their ability and potential. Reports allow teachers to flag the need for a conversation with parents to address any concerns and ensure remedies are swiftly agreed that secure progress. Year 11 and Year 13 pupils will receive two sets of mock examination results in Autumn 1 and Spring 2.
Messaging Portals and Apps
For Seniors, parents receive key information through ISAMs as an email. Responses are managed through Forms. Where a payment is needed then a link will be provided to Parentmail. In addition, parents have access to key data via the Parent Portal. The web version allows access to the school calendar, timetable, reports, assessments, attendance and discipline records. The App allows access to similar functions. There is a messaging facility in the Parents evening School Cloud App that is used for informal reminders.
Parents’ Evenings
In Seniors, parents’ evenings provide the chance to meet with subject teachers to discuss progress in more detail. The High Tempo Framework will be used so that each appointment is focused on specific examples of work and clear guidance from the subject teacher for enhancing progress. The dates for 2025-2026 are published in the school calendar, ensuring that families can plan ahead. At the start of the year tutors will meet with parents to introduce themselves and discuss overarching academic expectations and targets for the year. These formal updates sit alongside our open-door approach, ensuring that parents have a full and up-to-date understanding of their child’s journey through Seniors.
