Clubs and Enrichment

Springboard

This is a catch-up maths course for those pupils entering year 7 with level three or below. It is also suitable for any pupil in years 7 – 9 who struggle with maths and would appreciate the extra support. It is run by Mrs Brain and Mrs Skrybant and takes place during Tuesday lunchtimes.

Chess

This course runs on a Wednesday lunchtime over 12 weeks and takes anyone at any level and seeks to develop not just their ability but hopefully a liking for the game. We look at the basics from how each piece moves to developing strategies to successfully beating your opponent! This is an excellent activity to help pupils grow in confidence when solving problems. Maybe one day someone may challenge Mr Carter and win!

Algebra – Year 10 and 11

This is a club which concentrates on revising and expanding pupils knowledge of all algebraic skills needed for GCSE. Each pupil is given an algebra booklet which they can work through at their own pace under Mrs Brains guidance. So come along and improve your algebra on Wednesday lunchtimes.

Maths Level 8 Club

This activity runs during lunchtime on a Monday and is for all those year nines who are aiming for a high level on their SATS. We will cover some new level 8 topics and practice higher level SATS papers.
