Specifications (AQA)
Written Examination 20% Section A – Short answer questions Section B – Short answers based on the set professional choreography and four other choreographies of the school’s choice. Section C – One essay question based on one element of dance in any of the five professional works studied.

Set Study – Practical Examination 20% A routine choreographed by the exam board.

Coursework 60%
- 1. Solo Choreography – a 1 ½ minute dance choreographed by the student which aims to interpret a specific concept through dance.
- 2. Extended Programme Note – a written piece of coursework interpreting, analysing and explaining the solo choreography.
- 3. Group Dance – a dance for between 4 – 5 students choreographed by the teacher. Again an interpretative piece.
