Tour Guides still needed

March 5th, 2010

If your child is in Year 5 and above and has not yet signed up to be a tour guide but can still come along  tomorrow morning - please do!  If you can't make the whole morning, an hour will be fine!

We expect to be very busy indeed and would be grateful for as many tour guides as we can possibly get.  Each child will receive a gift token as a thank you for giving up their Saturday morning.

Your children, as always, are the greatest ambassadors for our school, impressing visitors by their courtesy and enthusiasm.   Please do encourage them to come along.

If you can make it please bring your child for 10.45am. They will be ready to be collected from 12.30pm onwards.

Thank you

Prep Girls victorious at netball

March 5th, 2010

The year 5 netball team played against Rosslyn School in their first match of the season and won 2-1. The girls performed to a good standard, moving the ball into the oppostion half with numerous chances to increase their score. Well done to Sana Zaffer and Cerise Telphia who scored the goals and  congratulations to the following pupils: Amaris Sandhu-Knott, Simran Kaur, Ikra Khaliq, Kate Simmons, Sunnena Sohal, Aneesa Hussain.  Player of the match was Kemi Drew for her excellent passing and intercepting.

The year 6 netball team also played against Rosslyn School and won 11-3. The team played exceptionally well, maintaining their high standards, especially in attack, to convert all their scoring opportunities. Well done to Taneal Morris and Ayesha Sultan the scorers and to Ellie Parsons, Niamh Oddy, Megan Nguyen and Philippa Crombie. Player of the match was Sareeka Soni who defended competitively and passed effectively to aid Priory's attacking options.

…And a mixed bag for the boys in football

March 5th, 2010

The Year 9 team drew 2-2 this week against King's Norton. Priory played some excellent football and led 1-0 at half-time thanks to a Osman Salam penalty. Priory then went to sleep in the second half and Kings Norton scored 2 quick goals. However, Captain Umar Farooq saved the day with a cheeky lob over the goalkeeper with two minutes remaining.

The Year 8 Football Team warmed-up for Monday's cup final by beating Edenhurst Stafford) 5-3. Despite a small pitch Priory still managed to play some good passing football and ran out easy winners. Gian Surdhar scored a hat-trick and Year 7's Hayden Ali and Dean Pither scored the other two goals. Captain Dan Evans was Man of the Match.

The Year 7 Football team lost 5-3 to Hall Green yesterday. A spirited display saw Priory lose in a close game with Keanu Murrain (Year 6) scoring from 40 yards and Kyle King scoring twice, one an overhead kick! Priory played some good football but were unfortunate to be beaten by a bigger, stronger side.
