Priory 12 - 1 Kings Norton Girls
It would appear that the year 7 netball team were keen to uphold year 7s "winning" reputation when they ventured out into sub zero temperatures to take on Kings Norton Girls School yesterday. KNGS boast some spectacular results and with over 900 girls on role, a challenge lay ahead. Priory quickly opened the scoring with Siena scoring 7 goals in the first half partnered by Saffah making her debut at Goal Attack. The impenetrable nature of Nicole and Cerise (who moved from Centre to Goal Defence) prevented the opposition from scoring more than one goal. Olivia 'The Powerhouse' Thomas-Tapper making her first appearance at Centre worked tirelessly to feed both shooters and assist the defence. Sharp passing and fast movement secured a fine and well deserved win of 12 goals to 1, with Siena earning Player of the Match for scoring 11 out of the 12 goals.

Priory ISA Midland Cross-Country Champions!
The Year 7 & 8 boys became the only ever 2nd Priory ISA Midland Champions on Wednesday 25th Januray, by winning the under 14 cross-country competition at Bedstone College. The team made up of captain Platini Te Kamdem, Oliver Fluke, Harry Fluke, Reece Fackrell, Felix Price, Yusuf Roy and Motheo Pono braved 2 miles of mud, hills, streams and more mud to finish 1st in the team race.
More glory was bestowed on Platini Kamdem who also won the individual race, adding to his 1500m and Long Jump Midland titles. Reece Fackrell and Yusuf Roy finished 9th and 10th and along with Platini will now go on to represent the Midlands in the ISA National Cross-Country Finals. Oliver and Harry Fluke were the next home for Priory, finishing 15th and 19th. Motheo Pono finished 30th despite losing his shoe with a mile to go, but this did not stop "mighty" Motheo would continued to run over stones and through rivers with only one shoe! A great effort which sealed the team title for Priory. Felix Price then finished in a good time which meant that Priory were crowned the Midland Champions!

Year 7 and 8 Boys football team reach the quarter finals
The Year 7&8 team continued their unbeaten start to the season and in doing so, qualified into the quarter finals of the Investec ISFA National Cup. On the receiving end were Truro from Cornwall, 3-1 was the score but Priory were dominant throughout. Priory’s passing was a joy to watch, which lead to Odin Bailey showing a delightful touch and scoring after a rebound. Keanu Murrain then scored a “rip-snorter” after charging up the line and blasted the ball into the roof of the goal. Priory continued to be dominant, hitting the woodwork twice and missing many chances but Platini sealed the game with another “Platini special” chipping in from 35 yards. This was a great performance which even had the Truro parents clapping!! Another great performance from the team which now means they are ranked in the top 8 independent schools in the country

A wonderful clear evening welcomed the Priory school Bonfire night event this year which was bigger and better than previous years. The crowds started to arrive at 6:30pm and were warmly greeted by the Friends of Priory volunteers serving beautiful cupcakes and flapjacks made by the senior pupils, we wish to thank the pupils for their contribution it was a great addition to the offerings. The glow in the dark novelty stall was a huge success and the Prefects handled the queues and sales expertly, the school grounds were illuminated much before the Bonfire was lit with coloured glow sticks racing around enjoying the evening.Congratulations to Year 1 for winning the 'build a Guy' competition, the guys were on display in the entrance hall before they were walked down to the Bonfire and put in position to face their fate. The Bonfire was lit at 7:15pm and was a glorious welcome source of heat and wonderment for all our younger guests. At 8pm our spectacular firework display began and was truly magical, there were everybody's favourites as well as new impressive displays. The end of the display this year needed no prompt to applause, the crowd cheered and clapped with genuine appreciation and then with cheered hearts headed back to the hall where we all feasted on Samosa's, burgers, cakes and refreshments.
To end the evening the Raffle gathered quite a crowd and Mr Cramb and Mrs Cleary pulled this winning tickets and then thanked everyone for coming and making Bonfire night at the Priory this year a real night to remember.

Yesterday the Year 8 B team played against Edenhurst School and went down to a 2-1 defeat. The boys started slowly and were soon 2 goals down, the first a header from a corner and the second a stunning over head kick once again from a corner. It was only after going 2 down that the boys started to play, and after a period of pressure Yousuf fired in from close range. Despite pressing for an equaliser, it did not come and the Year 8 boys suffered a rare defeat.

The Prep Football team were beaten 2-1 by a strong Edenhurst team yesterday. However this was a terrific performance from a young Priory team who played some excellent passing football and are beginning to develop into a very good football team. Munmeet Jagpal was again star of the game with another goal and a good workman like performance. Team: Abaan, Alfie, Josh, Sarhill, Nathan, Gurkirit, Munmmet, and Michael.

The best adjective that can describe the Year 7&8 Football team’s performance last night, would be “scintillating”. The team continued its unbeaten run by beating North Birmingham Academy 6-0. Priory did not give NBA chance to catch their breath, as Platini Kamdem terrorised the back 4 and slipped in Keanu Murrain who forced their defender to score an own goal and put Priory 1-0 up within 3 minutes. The game continued in the same fashion with Kamdem through balls to the Fluke twins which had NBA camped in their own half. Goals from Reece Fackrell, Platini Kamdem, Harry Fluke and 2 from Keanu Murrain sealed the victory and passage into the 3rd round of the All Birmingham Cup. A special mention to Seth Thompson who made his 1st appearance of the season who has commanding in defence and full backs Motheo Pono and Glen Ong’Era who dealt with their talented opposition with calmness and quality.

Congratulations to the year 7 netball team who had a ferocious start to their season in the Kings Norton District League. The team hosted a match against King Edwards Five Ways and within the first five minutes of the game went three goals ahead. Excellent shooting from Siena Henson saw Priory score seven goals in the first half, whilst the solid defense of Nicole Hume-McKay prevented the visiting team from scoring more than three. At half time a nervous Ananta Mangat and Jada Wilson came on to play WA and WD and whilst they found it hard to settle, Priory scored one more goal to make the score 8-3. A dubious penalty against Saffah allowed King Edwards to convert their final shot, leaving the final score 8-4 in Priory’s favour. Well done girls! Look out Edgbaston………Priory are in town! Player of the match: Siena Henson.
