Farewell
July 11th, 2008
How swiftly time flies! It’s the end of term! Over the last two weeks, the school has been filled with music, dance and drama – with two Awards Ceremonies, the Year 6 play, the Early Years Graduation, the Prep. VI Prom., etc. ………..
By Monday, all will be quiet. The school will feel a little like the Marie Celeste – dusty classrooms, no children, only a few staff - and I will have time to reflect on what has been the most exciting and energising seven years of my life.
I have so enjoyed my time as Headmistress. The school has grown in so many ways – there are almost double the number of pupils, but that’s not our greatest achievement over the last seven years. This is a bustling, dynamic learning environment – full of fun and focus – and THAT is why I am proud to be Headmistress here. I have always believed it to be ‘the best school in Edgbaston’ – and now it seems that many more parents agree!
For me, each child is special and unique – our task as educators is to treat your child as an individual, to value and applaud individual talents and to nurture shared aspirations. I believe that we live the marketing – ‘teaching the individual is a Priory priority’ – rather than simply using that phrase as a catchy sound-bite.
I wish you all – parents, staff and most especially of all, the pupils – health, happiness and prosperity in the future. Thank you for allowing me to touch your lives in some small way over the last seven years.
God bless,
As salam alaykum,
Inshallah,
Thank you
Elaine Brook
