Welcome to Priory School
A school where every child succeeds
News

Priory School is a thriving, Catholic, independent school, which welcomes all faiths.  In partnership with parents, we provide a caring community with high standards of teaching and learning, enabling all pupils to achieve success.  For a full statement of our mission and aims click here

The school was opened on its present site, in the heart of Edgbaston, in 1936 by the Sisters of the Holy Child, Jesus.  Today we continue their vision of providing an education “to meet the wants of the age” within a safe, secure and caring community where each child is confident in the knowledge that they are valued for their own unique gifts, not simply as a potential exam grade.

We aim to give every child the opportunity to discover and develop their talents. Excellent standards of teaching and learning, delivered within small classes and developed to meet the needs of each child ensures pupils achieve optimum academic success.  We have been placed in the top 5% of schools (state and independent) for our value added measure.  This is the measure that indicates how well a school has brought on pupils from one key stage to another.

Whilst, beyond the classroom we provide an incredibly diverse range of opportunities for each child to fulfil themselves artistically, spiritually, culturally and in sport.   View our events calendar for a taste of life at Priory School

At all times we applaud determination, commitment and effort whilst celebrating each success.  We pride ourselves on our close relationship with parents, keeping you informed about the progress of your child and being available to talk about any concern you may have as soon as it arises.

We believe that the end result of a Priory education is a confident, well-rounded individual – a good team player who is able to think independently and lead when required. Overall a Priory pupil treats fellow pupils and staff with courtesy and respect and cares deeply for their community and their world.

We are committed to widening access to the school through our scholarships and supported places scheme for pupils entering Years 3 & 7.

Do visit us soon at one of our Open Days, or make an appointment for a personal visit, and experience us ‘in action’.
