Monday 5th December:

Priory Progress to Regional Finals as District Champions!

The Year 7 boys 5-a-side football team made a bit of Priory School history yesterday, when they became the first Priory School team to lift a Kings Norton District Football Trophy. The boys were in exceptional form and both Archbishop Isley and Baverstock School had no answer to their stunning passing and movement. Archbishop Isley were first to be put to the sword and were soundly beaten 6-1, with 5 goals from Odin Bailey. Next came Baverstock who were also crushed under the Priory juggernaut, this time by a score line of 7-1 with another 5 goals by Odin Bailey. The boys should be congratulated as this is an excellent achievement, and they now progress through to the regional finals. The team was Geraldo, Odin, Reece, Yousuf, Harry and Oliver. Well done boys! Mr Pollard

Monday 21st November:

Priory Win Kings Norton 5-a-side Heat

The Year 7 boys continued their impressive start to the season when they became the first Priory School team to qualify for the Kings Norton 5 a side district football finals. The boys looked exceptionally good when sweeping all before them at Shenley Academy yesterday. First to succumb were local rivals St Georges who were soundly beaten 4-2, they were followed by the hosts Shenley Academy who were beaten 4-1, last but not least Harborne Academy were demolished 4-0. Priory's goals came from Geraldo and Odin 5 each and 1 each for Reece and Harry Fluke. A special mention should go to Yousuf Roy who stepped in at the last minute to play in goal, a position he is not used to playing in. Well done boys!

Thursday 3rd November:

Priory 6 - 1 Ninestiles

  1. The Year 7 boys football team travelled to the previously unbeaten Ninestiles School and came away with a convincing 6-1 victory. Priory dominated from start to finish with Odin Bailey in outstanding form securing a hat trick on his Yr 7 debut. Some of the passing and movement of the boys was simply fantastic. Geraldo was immense in midfield and along with Oliver Fluke totally dominated the opposition. The boys took an early lead through Odin, before Geraldo fire a rocket into the top corner. Odin scored his second soon after to make it 3-0 at half time. Geraldo scored his second soon after half time, before Odin finished off a silky move down the left with a sublime finish, sliding the ball past the Ninestiles keeper. Reece finished off the Priory scoring before Ninestles grabbed a late consolation. A fantastic all round team performance with Odin Bailey just sneaking man of the match.

Monday 26th September:

Priory B Team 3 - 3 Saltley

  • The Year 7b football team got their season off to a steady start with a 3-3 draw against Saltly School last night. The boys started well and took the lead with a fine solo run and finish by Bobby. Saltly then replied with 2 quick goals, before Munmeet (Yr6) fired a 20 yard free kick into the top corner. Munmeet then drilled a penalty into the bottom corner. Although the boys defended stoutly, they could not prevent a Saltly equaliser. Well done boys!
